MS-Accelerated Dietitian Nutritionist Track

graduate students in nutrition

The Master of Science – Accelerated Dietitian Nutritionist Track (MS-ADNT) is a 47-credit hour program starting with a cohort in the fall semester. The MS-ADNT provides graduate students with the knowledge and skills needed to sit for their registered dietitian nutritionist exam to become an entry-level practitioner.

The curriculum provides both didactic course work focusing on topics including metabolism, nutrition education, food service management, and medical nutrition therapy, along with supervised experiential learning in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and food service management.

The MS-ADNT is an ACEND* accredited program designed for students holding an undergraduate degree in any field of study who have completed the required prerequisite coursework to enter the program. This track combines the didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning hours into one program.

Meredith College’s geographic location in close proximity to the Research Triangle Park is ideal for graduate students to gain supervised experiential learning at some of the world’s top corporations and medical centers, as well as in local human service agencies and school systems.

Upon successful completion of the MS-ADNT, students will earn a master’s degree and are eligible to sit for the CDR credentialing examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Contact Dr. Coleman Hale, MS-ADNT Director at cmhale@meredith.edu or Tracy Smith, MS Nutrition Director at smithtra@meredith.edu for more information on the program or with questions regarding the application process.

*The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) released the Future Education Model Accreditation Standards for programs in nutrition and dietetics. These accreditation standards integrate didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning in a competency-based curriculum designed to prepare nutrition and dietetics practitioners for future practice.

The Meredith College MS-ADNT is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago, IL 60606, (312) 899-0040 ext. 5400
