at Meredith College

Internships are an essential aspect of a Meredith education.

Most students complete at least one, and many do more – some as part of their study abroad experience. Our strong reputation among employers locally and nationally means students have plenty of options when it comes to finding the right internship.

“I received valuable internships throughout my college education that prepared me for real-world applications of my studies.”

How My College Prepared Me For My Career

Increasingly, career-related experience is a job requirement, not simply an expectation. Our Office of Career Planning staff as well as our faculty have extensive connections with area employers. And because our students are known for their exceptional communication skills, work ethic, and academic preparation, employers increasingly come to us asking for more of our students – so much so that we often have more internships than we can fill.

Where Our Students Intern

With an ideal location in Raleigh, Meredith provides students with opportunities to complete internships in a variety of settings, from corporations to non-profits, from schools to hospitals.

Examples of recent internships completed by Meredith students include

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield NC
  • Carolina Hurricanes
  • Credit Suisse
  • Environmental Protection Agency
  • Lenovo
  • NC Autism Services
  • North Carolina General Assembly

Upon graduating, students will be well-equipped to pursue meaningful careers right out of college and be prepared for graduate school. At Meredith, students can customize their program in a way that maximizes their success, such as adding a second major. Students have also participated in micro-internships where they complete short-term, paid, professional assignments for organizations. Learn more about micro-internships.

Internship News and Events

Health and fitness have become more than just hot topics in today’s society – they’ve become movements. Between the boom of wearable heart rate technology, the increase in popularity of at-home workouts, and all the talk about body inclusivity, exercise and sports science (ESS) experts are needed now more than ever to cut through the noise and separate the truth from the fads.
