FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Study Abroad

Meredith College students have several different funding options when it comes to study abroad including loans and scholarships. Financial aid may travel with you and study abroad scholarships are available through the Office of International Programs and national organizations.

Funding Workshops
This workshop is an opportunity to learn more about study abroad program costs and estimated additional expenses, discuss financial assistance and scholarship opportunities and plan ahead to meet deadlines. Register for the workshop.

Financial Aid Process

  1. Visit the Office of International Programs to pick-up a program-specific study abroad program flyer.
  2. Complete the Study Abroad Estimated Expenses and Resources Form within the Study Abroad Application. Contact the Office of Financial Assistance to set-up an appointment and review the form.
  3. File a FAFSA by the appropriate deadline.
  4. After acceptance, complete the Study Abroad Financial Assistance Application. This form will be emailed to you by the Office of Financial Assistance.

Financial aid may be used for any expenses within the study abroad program budget, including tuition, room and board, international flight, local transportation costs, visa and passport fees, and required vaccinations. Students will work closely with the Office of Financial Assistance to determine their eligibility for each loan category as well as the amounts available for the time they will be abroad.

If you are eligible to receive financial assistance, funds are typically disbursed 10 days prior to your departure date.
