The Honors program at Meredith College offers a strong, diverse, and dynamic learning community, made up of faculty and fellow students dedicated to stretching themselves intellectually and achieving academic success. At Meredith College, Honors students learn, lead, speak up and give back.
Advising Support
Honors students receive support from their academic advisor and the director of the Honors program. This support system helps guide students through their Honors coursework, senior thesis, and the application process for awards, fellowships and graduate study.
Recognition
Honors students pursue an education with distinction—and their achievements are reflected on their transcripts. Honors students have an edge when they apply to graduate and professional programs due to the academic rigor of their undergraduate program of study. Recent graduates of the Honors program have been accepted to law school, veterinary school, and Ph.D. programs.
Travel
Honors students have the opportunity to travel to destinations in the U.S. and abroad. The Honors Fall trip is an opportunity for students from all classes, freshman to senior, to explore and learn together in a new locale. Weekend trips taken as a group promote experiential learning and a deeper understanding of each other and the subject at hand. Recent trips include

Study Abroad
In collaboration with donors and campus partners, the Honors program regularly offers scholarships to support Honors Program students who study abroad The scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants in good standing on the basis of merit, need, and participation in the Honors program.

A Pathway to National and International Fellowships
As a striving Honors student at Meredith College, you are in a good position to apply for national and international fellowships such as Fulbright, Schwarzman Scholars, and others.
