How Summer School Can Benefit You

It’s never too early to start thinking about your summer plans! If you’re an incoming first-year student at Meredith, you can consider taking a course or two during the summer. Summer school is a great way for students to get ahead! There are numerous benefits of enrolling in summer school as a first-year student, but here are just a few:

  • Maximize your four years. If you aren’t yet sure what you want to major in, completing general education requirements early can help you discover your academic interests, allowing you to maximize your time in your field of study. Online courses are offered in various disciplines, including art, communication, political science, music, and more.
  • Use time efficiently. Summer School is a great way to complete credits quickly. You could complete a general education requirement in as little as nine weeks – which means you’ll be qualified to enroll in more advanced courses earlier. (Which again – allows you to maximize your four years!)
  • Save money. Attending summer is cost-effective. Summer tuition costs less per credit than tuition during the regular school year.
