Theatre Scholarships

Classification: First Year, Theatre Major
The Award:

The Siska Scholarship is a four year endowment for incoming first-year students who plan on making theatre their major and career. Audition and interview are required for application, and interested high school seniors should contact Steven Roten for more information.

Scholarship applicants will be asked to interview with members of the theatre faculty.  For your audition, prepare the following:

Performance:

  • Two contrasting monologues under two minutes each

OR

  • One monologue and one up-tempo song from a musical theatre production. Singers must perform using a live accompanist or a recording track without vocalization or back-up singing of any kind. Candidates will not be allowed to sing acapella.Design and Technical students should provide a digital portfolio or examples of their theoretical or fully realized work to be reviewed by the faculty. Be prepared to discuss your work with specific detail.

Production / Design:

  • A Portfolio of realized / theoretical work
  • Evidence of involvement in productions (playbills / programs)
How to apply:

Apply online*. The scholarship deadline is January 6.

*Log in using the Admissions Applicant Portal Temporary PIN or password you established after you submitted your application for admission to the College.

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for theatre scholarships students must be admitted to the college by January 6. Finalists for the Siska scholarship will be invited to campus for Scholars’ Day in late February to interview with and audition for the faculty selection committee. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-March.
