Spring 2024 Student Outreach Events
- Published
Each semester, the Alumnae Association and Office of Alumnae Relations hosts a student-focused event to engage, support, and foster outreach to all current students. Chair of Student Relations Jennifer Christenberry, ’92, leads these pop-up events with support from other Alumnae Association Board of Directors, including Board President Courtney Allen, ’10.
The events provide students with an opportunity to connect with active alumnae volunteers who share ways in which they have remained involved with their Alma Mater. Previous events have garnered an attendance of over 350 students, and seeing the joy that these events bring to students is rewarding for all attendees!
On February 12, 2024, the Alumnae Association hosted their spring event, a Valentine’s Day-themed Pop-Up event for all current Meredith students. During this event, students received goodie bags and enjoyed hot chocolate and refreshments while creating friendship bracelets or keychains. Many volunteers from the Alumnae Association’s Board of Directors were in attendance, greeting students and passing out treats.
In addition to Galentine’s Day, the Alumnae Board sponsored a hot chocolate bar before the Alice in Wonderland performances for students while they waited out front of Jones Auditorium – a tradition that lives on! Alumnae volunteers enjoyed getting to share their Alice experiences while getting to hear what current students were most looking forward to about this year’s show.
