Service Projects Honor Veterans

Two service projects were held this fall as part of Meredith College’s Veterans Day commemoration.

The Honoring Women Veterans (HWV) Committee, with support from the Student Government Association and Student Leadership and Service, provided much-needed supplies to the RDU Airport location of the USO. The supplies help military travelers transition to their next flight or to a local duty station by providing toiletries and snacks.

The HWV Committee, with support from the Student Government Association and Student Leadership and Service, also delivered a box of cards to the American Red Cross, Triangle Chapter, for Holiday Cards for Heroes, providing cheer for military members in hospital or deployed, who either have no family or will not be able to be with them over the holidays. The American Red Cross was especially glad to receive Meredith’s handwritten cards, as many that are donated are machine-written cards.
