Hospitality and Tourism Management Students Visit 321 Coffee

Students from Meredith College’s Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management Program visited non-profit 321 Coffee to meet founder and social entrepreneur Lindsay Wrege.

The students talked with Wrege about how as a student she took 321 Coffee from a pop-up coffee service at NC State to operating today as permanent vendors at the NC State Farmers Market. 321 Coffee employs 21 adults with disabilities, all of whom are paid above minimum wage.

Students loved meeting server Paul and enjoyed his fabulous coffee that was roasted onsite in their brand new roaster. 321 Coffee is  pursuing opening a storefront to grow their impact.

321 Coffee’s work ties in with Meredith’s focus in its curriculum on the triple bottom line within the hospitality and tourism industry and the site visit was another example of Meredith’s hands-on approach to learning.
