Hospitality and Tourism Management Program Hosts Panel on “The Bad, The Good and What’s Next in Music Festivals”

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management Program at Meredith College hosted a panel discussion about the negative impact COVID-19 has had on North Carolina’s booming music, festivals, and concerts business.

Moderated by Program Director Michael Altman, the featured panelists were Amy Cox, partner at Deep South Entertainment, an artist and business management firm, concert production company, talent agency, and live music venue with offices in Raleigh, N.C., and Nashville, Tenn., and Amanda Fletcher, an event manager at Raleigh Parks who has 15+ years of experience in simultaneously managing all aspects of multiple, large-scale events including planning, execution, and follow up for clients across diverse sectors of all industries. She was previously a music industry executive and has been a valued partner with the Hospitality program at Meredith.

Socially distanced in Ledford Hall, 20 students engaged with the panelists to dig into where the business was, where it is now and where it is headed, and what that means for events, hospitality and tourism and specifically their unique business models.
