This March, the Friends of the Library will welcome author Sheila Turnage, who will present Three Times Lucky…and then Some!, speaking on her work writing mysteries for kids. Turnage is from eastern North Carolina, just like Miss Moses LoBeau, the narrator of Three Times Lucky. Her first novel for children, Three Times Lucky, is a Newbery Honor winner, a New York Times bestseller, an E. B. White Read-Aloud Honor Book, and an Edgar Award finalist. Her award-winning follow-up books include The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing (New York Times Bestseller) and The Odds of Getting Even (Junior Library Guild Selection, AAUW-NC Juvenile Fiction Award).
Join us on Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in Belk Dining Hall, while Sheila Turnage shares tales of her time with her beloved characters, Mo & Dale! Hors d’oeuvres service starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by kid-friendly dinner at 6:30 p.m. Readers of all ages are welcome and we encourage you to consider bringing the young readers in your life to this fun event!
