In this issue we celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff in criminal justice, political science, and sociology. We also share an announcement about MAP preschool openings.
Bianca Harris, program director of Meredith’s criminal justice graduate programs, was interviewed by The New York Times about a wrongful death case in Colorado challenging the “fleeing felon” rule.
Assistant Professor of Sociology Kris Macomber was interviewed about changes to Title IX for an article in Diverse Issues in Higher Education. The story ran on July 14.
Associate Professor of Political Science Whitney Ross Manzo appeared on the Spectrum News show Capital Tonight on July 16, discussing the Meredith Poll and what we found regarding North Carolinians’ views toward law enforcement and Confederate statutes.
Professor of Political Science David McLennan was quoted in an Associated Press story about President Trump’s reelection strategy of having large rallies in battleground states. He was also quoted in a USA Today story about Republican U.S. Senate candidates deciding whether to embrace President Trump on the campaign trail. In addition, he published an op-ed in The Hill about President Trump’s decision to hold a July 3 event at Mt. Rushmore.

MAP Explorers Preschool Openings
The Meredith Autism Program (MAP) Explorers Preschool has openings for the Fall. Slots are available for typically developing children between 3-5 years old for five mornings per week.
