Discover Meredith Held October 27

On October 27, the Alumnae Relations Office and Office of Admissions held Discover Meredith. This is a day for alumnae to invite young women in their lives to campus and share Meredith and their experiences with prospective students.

Alumnae enjoy the opportunity to show the campus to students and give them the opportunity to learn about Meredith. It also gives the students the chance to connect with current students and other alumnae. They also hear from President Allen and other campus leaders about the benefits of studying at Meredith.

“Our alumnae play an important role in helping the College find young women who would continue to make Meredith strong,” says Hilary Allen, director of alumnae relations. “We always enjoy having alumnae back on campus and having them here with this purpose only makes us stronger for the future.”

The day started with members of each current Meredith class sharing information about campus life, classes, and Meredith traditions. President Allen shared how she discovered Meredith and gave a College update. There was a young alumnae and student panel that spoke about their Meredith experience and a campus traditions tour was offered. In addition, Amanda Steele Johnson, ʼ96, president of the Alumnae Association and Jean Jackson, ʼ75, vice president for College Programs shared remarks during lunch.

This event is held each year and truly is an opportunity for Meredith alumnae to change a young women’s life that is important to them.
