Amanda Brown

Amanda Brown, ’15, enrolled in the Meredith MBA with the goal of building a career in marketing for a consumer-facing company. During her final semester of the program, she earned a promotion to manager of national marketing and media for the Golden Corral Corporation. She was also inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma – the international honor society for AACSB-accredited business programs.

Today, she continues to advance her career as director of corporate partnerships at DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

For Amanda, being able to define her strengths was one component of the Meredith MBA that helped fuel her ambition. The insights she gained into what makes her a strong professional translated into a more focused career plan.

“The descriptions [of my strengths] were applicable to my career and provided insight as to why certain work gives me tremendous energy,” she said. “The results helped me better articulate my goals and how I am able to contribute to a team.”

She received support and career guidance from the Meredith MBA faculty, who were able to provide her with specific advice based on her individual strengths and ambitions.

“[Faculty] develop relationships with students and spend time teaching, coaching, and mentoring outside of the classroom,” she said.

Amanda also forged valuable relationships with her classmates. “Meredith does such a good job building a diverse program with students and professors from a variety of backgrounds, industries, and cultures,” she said. “The experience and knowledge that I gained from others have been tremendously valuable.”
