Richard Urquhart and his wife, Cindy, a Meredith alumna, are long-time supporters of Meredith. Urquhart retired as the chief operating officer of Investors Management Corporation, a Raleigh based holding company. He is the a past chair of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, a director of NewBridge Bank, and serves on the board of Public School Forum, Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County and the Wake Education Partnership.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina majoring in English and accounting. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
