Patricia Armstrong Johnson is a 1970 graduate of Meredith College with a major in mathematics. In addition, she holds a Masters Degree from North Carolina State University as well as certification in Municipal Administration from the Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Johnson served as Assistant City Manager of the Kinston community for eight years before accepting a similar role in the office of the County Manager in Chesterfield County Virginia. Prior to concentrating on local government management, Johnson served as North Carolina director for the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration statewide grants program. Subsequent to the birth of her triplets, Johnson joined her husband on his global corporate career circuit which included multiyear assignments in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan.
Other focus arenas have included long time membership in the American Association of University Women, Chairmanships of Methodist Church Administrative Councils in both Delaware and North Carolina, as well as service as an active Stephens Minister.
Johnson is retired and living at Lake Norman. She and her husband have four adult children and seven grandchildren.
