Profile
After growing up in the mountains of New York and the beaches of Florida, my graduate research took me to the barrier islands of North Carolina, Brazil, Australia, the Netherlands and the Canadian Arctic. The subjects of barrier islands, sea level rise, and coastal development remain active areas of research and publication. My current teaching includes courses in geology, geography, meteorology, environmental science, and GIS. The local geologic environment in the Raleigh-Durham area serves as important resources for my teaching. Local stream erosion has become a focus for student research in the past two years.
