Carolyn Koning welcomed the opportunity to return to Meredith College in 2017 as Assistant Director for Disability Services. She previously served the Meredith community as Co-Director for First Year Experience (1999–2005). Carolyn brings extensive experience in education, ranging from disability services at a large local college to teaching at a small private K–12 academy in Kenya. A lifelong educator and advocate, Carolyn’s passion is empowering students to develop independence and confidence as they pursue academic achievement and, ultimately, a purposeful life. Carolyn specializes in creating equal access for students with visual impairments, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and attention deficit disorder. She is also dedicated to collaborating with faculty and to providing meaningful professional development opportunities for colleagues.
