Dr. Sasha Ormond teaches general, organic, and quantitative analytical chemistry and is the Department Head of Chemistry, Physics, and Geoscience. Prior to joining Meredith College full time in 2013, Dr. Ormond was an adjunct at Meredith College and at Johnston Community College for one year. Research students under Dr. Ormond’s guidance have worked on organic synthesis of antibiotics and dyes, biofuel production, GC/MS analysis of digestive juices of Sarracenia purpurea, and other projects. Dr. Ormond is involved with the North Carolina section of the American Chemical Society and is the chapter advisor of ACS at Meredith College.
