Frankie G. Weems Gallery at Meredith College features the fiber artist Patrizia Ferreira in the exhibition Precarious Habitats.
Ferreira received a bachelor’s degree in textile design from the Institute of Industrial Design in Montevideo, Uruguay, and a Master of Science degree in textile design for prints from Thomas Jefferson University. Ferreira’s work incorporates thread, yarn, found, and heirloom fabrics, as well as a variety of repurposed materials, such as plastics, to create sculptural, embroidered paintings.
