At Meredith, we believe everyone should have access to an excellent education. Every day, we see Meredith’s education shape and create strong leaders who positively impact our workplaces and communities. And we want to make a Meredith Education available to you.
Meredith offers numerous financial aid opportunities, but the FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Student Aid) is the gateway for creating multiple options for funding your education. We encourage all students to submit the FAFSA.
The financial aid process may seem daunting. But, in reality, it’s pretty straightforward. Here are tips for completing the FAFSA and ensuring that Meredith can create a comprehensive aid offer for you.
To make the processing of your application go smoothly, make sure you have the following information gathered:
All the information you input must be the student’s information. Inputting the wrong information will severely delay the processing of your application.
Meredith will receive your FAFSA information electronically. We use this information to determine your eligibility for financial aid options like grants, loans, and need-based scholarships.
This step is crucial, so you need to submit your FAFSA with our FAFSA Title IV Code:
Again, putting in this code helps ensure we receive your information.
Make sure you are reading the FAFSA instructions carefully. You need to fill in all of the blanks, even if it means entering a “0.” The only time you can or should leave something blank is if the directions tell you to leave it blank.
Complete your FAFSA as soon as possible, preferably after October 1 your senior year. You must file your FAFSA by the priority deadline (February 15 for new students) for you to receive priority funding. All applications received by this date will receive maximum consideration for all available funds. Students applying after the priority deadline are less likely to receive maximum funds. However, if you miss this deadline, you should still complete your FAFSA.
You don’t need to wait for your admission decision to begin the need-based financial aid application.
Financial aid will be awarded after admission to the College and after submitting the FAFSA.
