Thank a Donor Day Held March 1
- Published
The 1891 Club hosted Meredith’s third annual Thank a Donor Day on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Festivities began the night before when Phonathon students called donors to thank them for their gifts on Giving Day.
The next morning, more than 40 signs were placed around campus to highlight donors and their gifts to the College. Throughout the day, 1891 Club representatives staffed a table in the Cate Center, where students were encouraged to sign thank you cards for our Giving Day Donors. More than 1,000 post cards were signed by students.
Members of the 1891 Club also delivered treats to faculty and staff whose departments have reached 100% participation in the faculty/staff giving campaign.
Several students were highlighted throughout the day on Meredith social media expressing how Meredith donors are making a difference in their lives. Students were also encouraged to post their own stories of why they’re thankful for Meredith donors.
The day concluded with a new 1891 Club event, #thankfulMC, during which club members were able to hear from a panel of 1891 Club alumnae about why they continue to stay involved and financially support Meredith. Panelists included Mary Rawls, ’13, Grace Smith Tolson, ’14, and Katie Shytle, ’15.
It was a great day for the 1891 Club to highlight the importance of philanthropy and to thank donors for their support from the people it affects the most – our students.
