Staying Strong Updates 2/16/21
- Published
Staying Strong Updates are reminders that will be helpful during the Spring 2021 semester. Items are either of interest to faculty/staff or on topics about which students may ask questions.
Randomized Testing
Meredith College is implementing randomized PCR testing this semester as an additional COVID-19 prevention strategy. Students who live on campus or who attend in-person classes will be able to participate in the randomized testing program on a volunteer basis. Tests will be conducted on campus at no cost to students. Those who participate will receive a special gift and also be entered in drawings for $500 grants that will be applied to their Meredith accounts. The purpose of randomized testing is to help reduce asymptomatic spread of COVID-19. Additional information about how to participate will be shared by the Student Health Center.
Classroom Spaces Available for Students to Use for Zoom Classes
For students who would like to use a Meredith space for their Zoom classes, the College has identified classrooms in several academic buildings that can be used for this purpose. These include Lux, Harris, and SMB. Study rooms may also be reserved in Carlyle Campbell Library. These options are in addition to outdoor seating areas and spaces in Cate Center. Please be sure to observe the space occupancy limit, wear a face covering, and follow posted instructions on where to sit.
Quarantine/Testing Reminder
Meredith College recommends that anyone who travels, attends a social event, or spends time around anyone they do not live with should quarantine and then obtain a COVID PCR test 5-7 days into the quarantine period. Wait for your results to be returned and return to campus only if your PCR test is negative. Free off-site testing is available in many locations.
