New Accelerated MBA Option Available for Meredith Students

Meredith College has recently approved an Accelerated MBA option through which Meredith students can earn a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in just five years.

Open to all Meredith College majors, the Accelerated MBA is a 4+1 program that will allow students to earn a graduate degree in just one additional year, saving students time and money. Meredith College’s competitive, nationally-ranked MBA program is the lowest-cost AACSB program in the Triangle.

“This option is available not only to business students but to all students at Meredith,” said Kristie Ogilvie, dean of the School of Business. “It is a strong option for students who want to combine an MBA with their undergraduate degree in fields including, but not limited to, the arts, English, communication, STEM fields, or design.”

Qualified students will complete a core set of business courses during their first three years at Meredith. During their senior year, students in the program will take two MBA courses that will count toward their undergraduate and graduate requirements. After earning their undergraduate degree, students will be able to complete the Meredith MBA with two semesters and two summer sessions.

The new Accelerated MBA option is another way that Meredith College is providing options to help students earn the degrees needed to be competitive.

“Graduate education is becoming essential for anyone, regardless of their industry of choice,” Ogilvie said. “This new program is one of many ways that we want to ensure we are supporting Meredith students in reaching their career goals.”

President Jo Allen believes programs like this one build on Meredith College’s reputation for educational excellence.

“We are proud to announce newly designed curricula that reflect the ways more students are choosing to go to college,” said Allen. “Based on well-constructed pathways and faculty/staff guidance and support, our students will be work- and life-ready by building on their strengths for more inspirational and meaningful experiences.”
