Meredith Professor Elected as President-Elect of the Society of Occupational Health Psychology

Dr. Joseph Mazzola, program director of the M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology program, was recently elected president-elect of the Society of Occupational Health Psychology (SOHP). In this role, Mazzola will spend two years supporting the current president before starting his own two-year term as president.

“It’s an honor to get to serve this community in this capacity, as well as to support occupational health research, an important field for ensuring employee well-being and safety,” said Mazzola.

His involvement provides valuable opportunities for Meredith I-O psychology students, such as networking, internships, and access to current research.

“From the moment students apply through post-graduation, we try to think about how we can best prepare them for their career goals and what they will encounter in the job,” said Mazzola. “We do this through direct professional development, networking, teaching important scientific findings and applied best practices, and providing experiential learning and internship opportunities.”
