Meredith COVID-19 Updates for May 27, 2020

This news roundup will be a regular feature in Campus Connections until the College resumes its typical face-to-face teaching and working schedule. Items are either of interest to faculty/staff or on topics about which students may ask questions. 

The following updates were shared with Meredith faculty and staff on May 20:

  • Meredith Autism Program (MAP), whose client families and staff, in consultation with medical, legal and educational experts, have determined their work is essential and that protections are in place for their return, resumed operations on Tuesday, May 26.
  • While North Carolina moved from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of reopening at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 21, Meredith College will maintain its current schedule and stay-at-home guidance through at least Monday, June 1. (With the exception of MAP as noted above). Further instruction and announcements of policies for next steps will be announced soon.
  • Planning Continues: The full Incident Response Team continues to meet weekly, with core subteams also meeting regularly, to consider the guidance of the CDC, the American College Health Association (ACHA), and state and local officials. ELT also continues to meet twice daily to review new developments, assess planning efforts, and make operational decisions.
