Meredith COVID-19 Updates for April 29

This news roundup will be a regular feature in Campus Connections until the College resumes its typical face-to-face teaching and working schedule. Items are either of interest to faculty/staff or on topics about which students may ask questions.

  • CDC Updates COVID-19 Symptoms: This week the CDC updated the list of symptoms that are possible with COVID-19. In addition to fever, cough, and shortness of breath, the new list includes chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell. This new guidance has been added to Meredith’s coronavirus information site.
  • Vision Day in Celebration of the Class of 2020: Members of the Meredith Community are invited to take part in Vision Day: a digital expression of Meredith’s pride in the Class of 2020 that will take place via social media on May 9. Vision Day provides an opportunity for reflection on the accomplishments of candidates for graduation as well as a celebration of the bright futures ahead of them. Visit meredith.edu/celebrate for more.
  • Book Returns: On April 27, students were sent information on book rental returns and how to sell their textbooks at the end of the semester. Students who rented their books can return them using a free return label. Students can sell purchased books on the online marketplace. Information on both options can be found at meredith.edu/textbooks.
  • Employee Resources Available on MyMeredith: A reminder that HR is compiling resources for employees during the pandemic on the HR MyMeredith page. This site also includes a listing of campus projects available on a voluntary, temporary basis for those who are not currently able to earn their typical work hours. Visit the HR site on MyMeredith for more information or to view project opportunities.
