Meredith College to Host CSA Day 2025

Meredith College will host the 23rd annual Celebrating Student Achievement (CSA) Day on April 10, 2025. The day-long event showcases student intellect and curiosity through research presentations, posters, performances, creative projects, awards, exhibits, and more. With over 80 submissions this year, the research projects represent several disciplines, such as the arts, humanities, social science, mathematics, and natural sciences.

“My main goal for CSA Day is to make it easy for the campus community to see and celebrate all of the awesome work our students are doing,” said Director of Undergraduate Research Whitney Ross Manzo. “We have prepared a great program with lots of different showcases, presentations, and performances all across campus. It will be challenging to pick and choose what to join out of all of the amazing activities happening, but that’s a great problem to have!”

A Taste of CSA Day 2025

Eliza Lewis, ’26, who is studying psychology and social work, will present Identity and Intellectual Disability, which aims to further the understanding of the personal identity of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Lewis conducted interviews with intellectually disabled participants about their interests and identities to analyze ways of creating a more inclusive society.

Through the research process, Lewis gained many skills, such as networking, interviewing, and data analysis, which will transfer to her future career goals of implementing municipal-level initiatives to create inclusive and accessible environments.

“This experience allowed me to fully immerse myself in a community that I am interested in working with,” said Lewis. “Establishing connections through this research helped my future endeavors by building a system of individuals I can connect with.”

CSA Day Bingo

New this year is a bingo card to motivate members of the campus community to engage in CSA Day.

“Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to complete three boxes in a row to earn a voucher for lunch at one of the food trucks we’ll have during the Sensory Performance Showcase (while supplies last),” said Manzo. “The cards will be widely available on CSA Day.”
