Friends of the Library Dinner to Feature Author David Menconi

Meredith College’s Friends of the Library Dinner on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, will feature local author David Menconi.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. in Belk Dining Hall West.

About the Author
David Menconi is a journalist and author from Raleigh who wrote for The News & Observer for 28 years. He has published five books about the musical history of North Carolina and the genre of roots music. Menconi was the 2019 Piedmont Laureate. Learn more about his work at davidmenconi.com.

Tickets: $22 for Friends of the Library members, $28 for non-members, and $7 for Meredith students. Reserve your space online.

This will be the first in-person Friends of the Library Dinner since Fall 2019. 

The mission of the Friends of the Carlyle Campbell Library is to promote, support, and encourage the services and interests of the Library and to build a strong relationship between the Library, the Meredith community of students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and scholars, and the friends of the College within the wider community.
