Faculty/Staff Accomplishments December 2025

In this issue, we celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff in international studies, music, and psychology.

Dr. Chelsea Cutright, Assistant Professor of International Studies, presented at the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport (NASSS) Annual Conference in Seattle, Wash., on November 8 as part of a session titled Sport for Inclusion. Her presentation was titled Sport, Social Impact, and Youth-Led Organizations in Tanzania.

Dr. Margaret Evans,  piano faculty, has been honored to be nominated and then inducted into the Steinway Teacher Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place in New York City on October 21, 2025. The Steinway Hall of Fame was inaugurated in 2019 and occurs biennially. Among the other inductees this October were Yoheved Kaplinsky (head of piano, Juilliard School),  Michelle Cann (head of piano,  Curtis Institute),  Gerardo Tessonniere (Cleveland Institute), Lambert Orkis (Temple University and famed collaborative artist), and Dmitri Rachmanov (California State Northridge). 

Dr. Joseph Mazzola, Professor and M.A. Director, I-O Psychology, appeared on The Great IO Get-Together (The GIG) podcast to discuss qualitative research, one of his big passions. The episode, “Teaching Practical Research Skills: Qualitative vs. Quantitative Methods,” was released in November.  

Dr. Candalyn B. Rade, Associate Professor of Psychology, co-authored an article titled “The overlooked workforce: Harnessing the talent of people with criminal histories,” published in Organizational Dynamics. This paper comes from Rade’s ongoing work with a collaborative team across several U.S. and Canadian institutions on research and policy regarding employment of people with criminal histories.
