Results from the 2025 Student Satisfaction Survey show that overall Meredith student satisfaction levels have stayed positive. In the first week of February, 1,138 undergraduate students were invited to participate in the survey, and 425 students completed the questionnaire.
The following are some highlights that show significant levels of student satisfaction with their Meredith experiences:
- 98% agree that faculty/staff members have shown interest in their development
- 97% have clearer expectations of themselves than when they entered college
- 97% are glad they came to Meredith
- 96% are satisfied with their student experience at Meredith
- 96% agreed that they had been supported in identifying and/or enhancing their strengths
In order to gather some qualitative data about the Meredith experience, the 2025 Student Satisfaction Survey asked students about “some of the most important factors that keep you at Meredith.” The following comments are a sample of the kind of responses we received:
- “StrongPoints, the theatre department, and the education department have all been lifesavers. I have learned so much and really can feel myself growing academically. Also, … the counseling center is my lifeline and I would not have made it this long since then. I have made so many incredible friends here, I never want to leave. I have never once considered leaving Meredith. Raleigh is my home now, and Meredith is my safe space. ”
- “The beautiful small campus, the location in Raleigh, the FUN traditions, leadership roles, supportive faculty/staff, the learning center in the library, the constant opportunity to join clubs, get involved, and make new friends, the strong support from alumnae and the community, and SO much more!”
- “Whenever I have a problem, everyone is always willing to help, even if that means finding someone else who can. The faculty and staff that have supported me have taken on additional responsibilities just to ensure that I have been able to put my best foot forward.”
- “Professors, people, and class sizes and the biggest reasons I’ve stayed at Meredith. I’ve become really close with my professors and feel extremely supported by them.”
- “The department for my major has shown me immense support since I began attending Meredith. The main reason I have stayed here is the supportive environment and connections that are found within this music department.”
- “I love the local area. I feel safe on campus and have access to lots of opportunities without having to struggle at a large university.”
- “Meredith is home to me. I have looked at other colleges and universities and they just simply didn’t feel like “home”. There is just that special charm about Meredith and its small campus, close-knit community, traditions, and values that I really love.”
The results from this survey are used by a number of units on campus in their annual assessment processes and to make ongoing improvements, as well as by the Student Success Center to reach out to students who have expressed particular concern(s) or are deemed a retention risk.
Thank you to everyone for working to enhance the experiences and satisfaction of our students!
