Alumnae Relations Holds Annual 1891 Club Event
- Published
Alumnae Relations held the annual 1891 Club Kick-Off Event on August 20 at the Meredith Beach. The event was open to all students.
Students received branded t-shirts to tie-dye and were encouraged to create their own designs. Pelican’s Snowballs of Garner served cold treats, attendees enjoyed an inflatable slide, and raffle prizes were given out.
“The main goal of 1891 Club is connecting our tight-knit community of alumnae with our current students,” said Hannah Kicklighter, ʼ19, assistant director of alumnae relations. “Seeing students enjoy these fun events on campus while also learning about the Alumnae Association is rewarding!”
The 1891 Club was founded in 2014 and is Meredith’s student Alumnae Association. The organization is devoted to teaching members how to prepare for lifelong relationships with the College as partners, advocates, and investors.
Networking events with Meredith alumnae give 1891 Club members the opportunity to gain professional experience and connections, while also learning about life after Meredith. Special events educate students about staying engaged with the college as an alumna and why alumnae giving is important for future generations of students.
