Dr. Molly Hines maintains a dynamic performing and teaching career as a professional violinist. Molly is an active performer and has played extensively throughout the United States as well as internationally. Most recently, Molly performed as a soloist and chamber musician for the International Music Festival of Popayán in Popayán, Colombia. She taught children from all over Colombia during a master class as part of the festival as well. As a soloist, Molly performed the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra in November of 2021.  As a chamber musician, she enjoys collaborating with concert pianist Domonique Launey as an established duo. Most recently, Molly and Domonique performed in the concert series Music at First and Kenan Chapel Concert Series, both in Wilmington, NC. The duo performed in Les Issards,  France at Église des Issards in July of 2022. Molly and Domonique have been featured as guest artists at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, University of North Texas,  Transylvania University, Baylor University, and the Wilson Center in Wilmington (NC).  Experienced in quartet playing, Molly performed as second violinist in the Ursino String Quartet and won the chamber division of the Semper Pro Musica Competition at Baylor University. As a result, the quartet performed at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2017. In addition to her career as a soloist and chamber musician, Molly is an experienced orchestral musician as well. Currently,  Molly performs with the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle and the Carolina Philharmonic.  Previous orchestral engagements include contracts with the Greensboro Symphony, Fayetteville  Symphony, Wilmington Symphony, Plano Symphony, Richardson Symphony, and Irving  Symphony.  

Molly is passionate about sharing the joy of music through teaching and enjoys working with students of all ages and levels. She is certified in Suzuki Pre-Twinkle and Book 1 as well as  Level 1 of Paul Rolland String Pedagogy training. Molly is experienced in teaching at the collegiate level as well and taught applied violin lessons and aural skills classes at Baylor  University and UNT. Molly completed her doctorate (DMA) in Violin Performance at the  University of North Texas. She received her Master’s degree (MM) in Violin Performance at  Baylor University and her Bachelor’s degree (BM) in Violin Performance at the University of  North Carolina at Greensboro.
