Dr. Michelle Hartman is an experienced nurse educator and administrator dedicated to fostering excellence in nursing education and promoting health equity. With a distinguished career that includes serving as the Assistant Dean for the ABSN Program at Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON), she has demonstrated a proven ability to prioritize student success and cultivate diverse and inclusive learning environments.
As a passionate nurse educator, Dr. Hartman has extensive teaching experience across various nursing courses, including Pathophysiology, Community and Public Health Nursing, and Pediatrics, and she advocates for competency-based and active learning approaches. As a nurse, she has over 25 years of experience providing care to neonates, children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. She also has experience across various healthcare settings, from intensive care units to community-based clinics.
With a track record of building strong community and global partnerships and developing innovative programs, Dr. Hartman is excited about the opportunity to establish and grow Meredith College’s undergraduate nursing program.
