Spill The Tea: Commemorating the Edenton Tea Party & Women’s History

April 2 @ 12:30 pm - 3:20 pm
An old artwork depicting the Edenton Tea Party.

In 1774, women in Edenton, North Carolina signed a resolution supporting a colonial boycott of English goods in what is commonly known as the Edenton Tea Party.

On Thursday, April 2nd, the Introduction to Public History class is holding an event to commemorate this important event in North Carolina and women’s history.  The students will help educate the campus about the original “tea party,” dispel myths about the event, and provide craft opportunities as well as refreshments (featuring brownies/cookies).  The event will be held from 12:30-3:20pm and take place on the green space adjacent to the walkway between Lux and Harris Halls.

Please join us and help us spread the word about this event.

If you’d like to learn more about the original Edenton Tea Party prior to the event, please visit the Mosaic NC site on the subject. https://mosaicnc.org/edenton-tea-party
