It’s that time of year when transfer students are making their final decision on which institution to attend. This is an important step in reaching your goal of earning a bachelor’s degree, and you want to ensure you pick the right college or university for you. At Meredith, we’ll help you make a smooth transition to our community so you can finish strong. Today’s blog goes over four ways we’ll do so.
You’ll start the academic year with New Student Orientation to get all the information you need to start strong. You’ll be in a group with transfer students to help you connect with other incoming students in a similar position to you. Additionally, you’ll meet our Wings and Transfer Advisors, who are current students who already know what it’s like to transfer to Meredith. They’ll be there to support you during this transition.
At Meredith, we know that learning happens in more places than the classroom. That’s why 97% of our students participate in some form of experiential learning. Whether it’s studying abroad, conducting research, or completing an internship, you’ll apply the knowledge you’ve gained in the classroom to real-world experiences.
Our average class size of 14 ensures professors get to know you by name and help connect you with internships, jobs, and on-campus opportunities. And, our faculty want to help you thrive – 98% of students said one or more faculty/staff members showed interest in their development. This classroom setting also makes it easier to meet and chat with classmates than a lecture-style class of up to 100 students.
StrongPoints is an advising and personal coaching program found only at Meredith that’s designed to help you make the most of college. You’ll identify your strengths using CliftonStrengths®, a research-based assessment tool, and then apply them to your studies, experiential activities, career planning, and finances. By the time you graduate, you’ll know how to leverage your strengths in several areas of your life.
