Earning a Second Bachelor’s Degree at Meredith

Are you considering changing careers or re-entering the workforce? Or perhaps you want to learn something new for your personal enrichment. If so, getting a second bachelor’s degree can be a good option to accomplish these goals. 

At Meredith, we’re committed to helping you grow stronger at any stage. That’s why Wings, our adult education program for women, offers a second degree option. In today’s blog, we answer some questions you might have about earning your second degree at Meredith. 

How long will it take to complete a second bachelor’s degree?

It depends on your needs. Taking a full-time course load (typically four to five classes a semester) will give you the quickest turnaround, in some cases allowing for completion in less than two years.

Your faculty advisor will understand you lead a busy life and will work with you to create a completion plan at the pace that works best for you, even if you only take one or two classes per semester. 

Will I “fit in” on campus and have opportunities to be involved?

As a Wings student, you would be among more than one hundred undergraduate students aged 23 and older. New Wings students are invited to a Brunch and Learn series designed specifically to help new Wings students quickly acclimate to Meredith and meet other Wings students.

You can also join Women In New Goal Settings (WINGS), a student organization that provides opportunities for socializing with other Wings students and participating in its events. You’re also encouraged to join other clubs and organizations – our faculty and traditional students are very welcoming!

Is financial aid available to students pursuing a second bachelor’s degree?

Meredith College may provide grants of up to $10,500 annually to full-time students who are pursuing their second bachelor’s degree and who have demonstrated need and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
