As you go through the college search process, you’ll realize great colleges and universities offer their students an array of resources and opportunities to help students academically, professionally, and socially.
How a College Can Provide Support During Your College Journey
In today’s blog, we discuss the Carlyle Campbell Library’s services that help students thrive during their college careers.
Our supportive Library staff is always happy to assist you with finding the resource(s) and information you need.
During your time at Meredith, you will learn to locate and evaluate information sources as part of your general education requirements. This will be vital for research projects and assignments. At any point during your time at Meredith, you can also Ask a Librarian by text, phone, email, or set up an appointment for further help. Each staff member specializes in an academic field to better help you find what you need.
As a Meredith student, you will have access to a database of books, scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, and other media sources. In addition to Meredith’s database, you can request access to databases of Cooperating Raleigh Colleges, including NC State, Shaw University, St. Augustine’s University, Wake Technical Community College, and William Peace University.
The Library provides other resources for students, including software like Adobe and SPSS, laptop checkout, and exam preparation materials.
The Library is a great place to study and complete assignments. Come by yourself or with a friend and find your perfect spot to study. For those times when you have a group assignment, you can reserve one of the six study rooms available.
The Learning Center, which provides free (yes, free!) peer tutoring, is also housed in the Library.
The Library is not only a place to study and learn but also to build community and unwind. The Library offers community activities throughout the semester, such as potting plants, creating storyboards, and an annual Murder Mystery event! These are great ways to meet fellow classmates and take a well-deserved study break. Additionally, board games, Nintendo Switch consoles and games, and DVDs are available to check out.
